The YWCA provides a safety net to thousands of individuals each year by
supplying direct services, information and referrals. Many of these individuals
and families are experiencing a significant transition in their lives such as a
job loss, a divorce, trying to get off public assistance, or planning for
mid-life and beyond.
Families in transition require a continuum of support as most are faced with
multiple barriers to their economic and emotional success. The YWCA serves those
needing additional assistance through its Family Resource Center.
Through the program, a dedicated staff member works with families in finding
solutions to their specific challenges and setbacks. Clients benefit from
one-on-one attention where their needs are matched with YWCA programs or other
appropriate services in the community. The consistency that stems from a case
management approach helps families to regain their confidence as they implement
the steps necessary to be more self-reliant.
Whether it is finding employment, parent education classes, addressing
medical needs or overcoming self-defeating behaviors, families will gain access
to the resources necessary to better their lives and gain economic
self-sufficiency. The YWCA of Boulder County is pleased to offer a one-stop
resource for the tools and guidance needed to empower families for future
success. This new YWCA program will build a stronger community, one family at a
time.
