YWCA sponsors 29th Annual Colorado Women's Legislative Breakfast

YWCA Boulder County was a proud sponsor of the 29th Annual Colorado Women’s Legislative Breakfast, which focused on Disrupting Power Dynamics.

A powerful and passionate panel of female legislators, including Senator Rhonda Fields, Senator Beth Martinez Humenik, Representative Dafna Michaelson Jenet and Representative Polly Lawrence, discussed their perspectives and policy plans for issues brought up from the audience including: affordable child care, economic advancement and equal pay for women, engaging and empowering women of color, and education.

Brenda Hill, the key note speaker, shared her expansive work in the area of advocacy to end violence against women and their children. Brenda is Siksika/Blackfeet and also shared strong perspectives about respecting and honoring diversity.

YWCA Boulder County has a passionate group of volunteers who are engaging in advocacy and public policy reform in order to create sustainable solutions in our mission to empower women and girls, and to eliminate racism.
