YWCA Boulder County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 84-0500276), and gifts are tax-deductible. If you are a Colorado resident, you may also be eligible for the Colorado Child Care Tax Credit, which can significantly lower the net cost of your gift.

Becoming a monthly donor helps nonprofits like YWCA Boulder County by providing a reliable, sustainable revenue stream. Studies show the retention of a monthly donor is double that of a one-time donor, averaging 5-7 years. Monthly gifts, while sometimes smaller than a one-time gift, also provide the donor with an option for greater giving spread out over time.
Consider joining our monthly giving program and making the YWCA part of your monthly giving. Click here and select the “Donate Monthly” option.
When you make an unrestricted cash donation to YWCA Boulder County, you may be able to reduce your taxes through the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit, which decreases the after-tax cost of gifts by more than 50%.
If you qualify, half of your donation to YWCA Boulder County will be offset by a dollar-for-dollar credit against your Colorado income taxes. In addition, you will still be able to claim your full contribution as a charitable deduction on your federal and state income tax returns if you itemize deductions.
Tax Savings Example for a Gift of $250:
- Donor receives a $125 Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit.
- Donor receives a $6 Colorado state tax deduction for the full $250 donation amount.
- Donor receives a $38 federal tax deduction for the full $250 donation amount.
- Donor’s total tax savings equals $169.
- Donor’s actual cost of giving after taxes is $81 — that’s only $0.32 for every $1 that benefits YWCA Boulder County!

Did you know that you can donate your IRA distribution? If you are 70½ or older, an IRA charitable rollover is an easy way to make an impact and enjoy tax benefits. You can donate directly from your traditional IRA to a qualified charity (like YWCA Boulder County) up to $100,000 without it being considered a taxable distribution. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a tax deduction. Consult your tax advisor today to see if you can further your philanthropic goals and enjoy this tax benefit!

Your company or organization can put its values into action by sponsoring one of our fundraising events. An event sponsorship is truly a transformational gift that is multiplied many times and helps us meet our fundraising event goals to fuel the YWCA’s programs and services.
