Young Women+ Achievement Advocate
YWCA Boulder County is seeking a Young Women+ Achievement Advocate intern for the Spring 2026 semester.
The Young Women+ Achievement Advocate reports to the Director of Community Engagement and Equity. They will work directly with 9-12th grade BIPOC and LGBTQ+ high school students in Boulder County, helping to close the achievement gap and providing specialized support. YW+A advocates provide a space where students can build upon the strengths and resources of their community and understand the challenges, they may face in reaching their goals. YW+A provides positive youth development through programming and connecting to other organizations in Colorado. This position requires a commitment to the work and mission of YWCA Boulder County and supervision of youth. This is a part-time position averaging 16 hours a month (4 hours a week). January 2026 – May 2026.

Recruits and retain students for YW+A group at assigned area high school in Boulder County.
Develops and maintains relationships with school staff, counselors, teachers.
Provides tutoring and mentoring.
Helps plan and chaperone students on college visits, field trips, volunteer, and other extra-curricular activities.
Adheres to all protocols of using school space, resources.
Develops/coordinates programming and leads empowerment group meetings held at the school site, such as Life skills topics (wellness, study skills, adapting to change, issues of relevance) and college readiness/career planning based on the school’s schedule.
Administrative:
Coordinates and attends monthly meeting at assigned school.
Collects and enters data on student attendance and grades/graduation rates into spreadsheets.
Administers Pre/Post program surveys, collects Pre/Post surveys; enters data.
Coordinates logistics for activities, including refreshments, room location, AV set-up, reservations, etc.
Administers and collects any necessary field trip or participation permission slips when applicable.
Communicates regularly with school liaison and students; sets up regular meetings with liaison.

Development Director
YWCA Boulder County is seeking a nonprofit development professional with a demonstrated ability to increase revenue and ensure long-term strategic growth.
The Development Director is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of YWCA’s fundraising and communication initiatives. This includes setting and meeting development revenue goals, managing individual giving, and overseeing grants management. The role is largely external facing, managing and growing YWCA’s portfolio of major donors while also serving as a first point of contact for new donor engagement.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with proven experience in fundraising and business development to fuel and oversee a dynamic fundraising program.

Strategic Development and Planning
Design and implement comprehensive fundraising plans encompassing individual giving, major gifts, events, and grants focused on new donors and sustainable growth.
Develop annual and multi-year fundraising goals and budgets aligned with organizational strategy.
Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed. Report on key fundraising indicators (donor growth, retention, and campaign performance).
Oversee strategy and implementation of communications, including key messaging and the annual report, in partnership with the marketing team.
Contribute to organizational strategy and regularly report to internal leadership and the Board of Directors.
Utilize CRM and prospecting tools to maintain timely and accurate donor records, proposal tracking, and forecasting.
Relationship and Donor Management
Develop and grow a major gifts program, including the stewardship of prospects and existing donors with direct, face-to-face solicitations to help donors achieve their philanthropic goals.
Represent YWCA Boulder County at donor meetings, community events, and with grant partners.
Maintain comprehensive partnership profiles and engagement data across the organization.
Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts, corporate, and foundation donors.
Oversee management of donor databases, wealth screening tools, and other tracking systems.
Collaborate with the CEO to engage and support the Board of Directors in fundraising through guidance, training, and tools.
Event Management
Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds.
Manage the development budget and monitor expenses.

Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, including major gifts, corporate, and foundation giving.
Proven success in designing and leading strategic fundraising and communications plans.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.
Strong familiarity with donor databases.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Analytical and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to navigate public, private, and nonprofit organizations effectively.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience, with eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

Wellness & Nutrition Specialist
Reporting to the Director of Persimmon Early Learning (PEL), the Wellness & Nutrition Specialist leads our center’s integrated food, fitness, and garden programming. This full-time role is an engaging blend of hands-on education, lesson delivery, kitchen support, and community collaboration; all in service of helping children grow strong, curious, and connected.
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Classification: Non-Exempt or Exempt depending on candidate background
Pay Range: $28-$30/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Weekdays, with some flexibility; mornings and afternoons required

Nutrition Education & Kitchen Support
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate nutrition activities to each classroom at least twice per week. Hands-on nutrition activities may include gardening, cooking classes, field trips, and farmer visits.
Prepare morning snacks with allergen awareness and adherence to CO Public Health standards
Support kitchen needs including washing dishes, storing groceries as needed
Provide content for family newsletters, displays, and handouts (recipes, healthy tips, etc.) to families, promoting healthy eating habits, nutrition and to decrease consumption of decrease consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages.
Integrate healthy eating/nutrition lessons into classroom curricula on a regular basis.
Physical Activity & Movement
Facilitate active play and movement sessions for each classroom 3x per week using equipment, music, Brain Gym, yoga, and free play
Support proprioceptive and sensory development in infant classrooms
Coach teaching staff on integrating movement into daily classroom transitions and routines
Track daily movement lessons and engagement data for grant reporting
Garden & Nature Education
Lead seasonal garden curriculum and activities, working closely with the Farm-to-ECE program
Maintain playground garden spaces, coordinate watering and upkeep
Organize and support family planting events and seasonal field trips to local farms
Use the garden as a teaching and tasting tool for nutrition and science
Provide sensory exploration at playground garden beds will be provided for infants and toddlers
Grant Compliance & Wellness Outreach
Track all lesson delivery and child engagement data per grant requirements
Participate in wellness initiatives (HEAL, CATCH, etc.) and represent PEL at trainings
Create wellness displays, contribute to newsletters, and help promote healthy family habits

Passion for supporting the whole-child wellness of young children
Creativity and adaptability in designing and delivering food and movement curriculum
Comfort with basic cooking techniques and allergen-aware food prep
Ability to lead movement sessions for groups of children ages 0–5

Early Childhood Education Teacher

Volunteer, Reading to End Racism
Reading to End Racism (RER) is a grassroots organization founded in 1998 by a group of retired local teachers. They saw racism and discrimination in their classrooms and wanted to create a safer, more supportive educational environment for local students. YWCA Boulder County became involved with the program in 2006, originally providing office space and eventually adopting the program in 2013 to help it continue and grow.
Reading to End Racism (RER) is an inter-generational literacy program designed to engage K-5th grade students with books and personal stories, and spark discussion about eliminating racism, bullying and discrimination. RER provides training, resources and support for volunteers, teachers and parents to talk with their children about racism and discrimination.
