3rd Annual YWCA Dash and Bash

YWCA Dash and Bash is an event to celebrate the powerful mission to empower women and eliminate racism. Take your stand in the movement on Sunday, September 27th, 2020 at the Boulder Reservoir.

This FUNdraising event brings together our community by encouraging teams of 6+ co-workers, family members, friends, corporations and civic groups to make a powerful statement and provide support to fuel the important work of the YWCA in our community.  A fun 5K and 10K walk or run, this is an event for the competitive, those enjoying a fun, impactful run and even for kids to show their support in a 1-mile dash.

Dancing with Boulder Stars 2019 was a HUGE success!

THANK YOU to everyone who made the event possible. We had a packed house at the Boulder Theater as our 8 teams brought their best dances to the judges and raised critical funds for our programs. If you missed this year’s event, we hope you’ll join us in 2020!

Based on the hit TV show, this event features local celebrities, business people and community leaders who are partnered with local professional dance instructors. The pairs meet mid-summer and undergo an exhilarating 12-week long rehearsal process, which culminates in a live dance competition at the historic Boulder Theater. Audience members and fans of the pairs “vote” for their favorite by making donations towards YWCA Boulder County. Each pair will compete for the event championship by striving for the highest total in donations (efforts led primarily by the celebrities). These contributions support essential services in our community, such as emergency drop-in child care, youth empowerment programs, and racial equity programs.

Children’s Alley Child Care Closed

On March 18, Governor Jared Polis signed an executive order suspending in-person learning in public and private schools across the state from March 23-April 17. In accordance with this, the YWCA is planning for Children’s Alley to remain closed until Monday, April 20. We will keep you updated weekly as we continue to monitor the rapidly changing situation.

It has been incredibly hard for us to temporarily close our doors knowing that this is creating additional strain on the families we serve and the children we love. While some childcare centers remain open, we are following safety recommendations from Colorado Public Health to close Children’s Alley. As a drop-in childcare center with different children every day, there is an increased risk of spreading COVID-19 and our highest priority has always been to provide quality care while keeping our staff and families healthy and safe.

We are committed to working through this time by identifying the most pressing needs of our community and creatively aligning resources and programming to address these pressing issues. We are staying up-to-date with Boulder County Public Health and will communicate our reopening as soon as it is a possibility.
