Stay tuned for details about Dancing with Boulder Stars 2020

Based on the hit TV show, this event features local celebrities, business people and community leaders who are partnered with local professional dance instructors. The pairs meet mid-summer and undergo an exhilarating  rehearsal process, which culminates in a competitive dance competition. Audience members and fans of the pairs “vote” for their favorite by making donations to YWCA Boulder County. Each pair will compete for the event championship by striving for the highest total in donations (efforts led primarily by the celebrities). These contributions support essential services in our community, such as emergency drop-in child care, youth empowerment programs, and racial equity programs.

We are working hard to make changes to this event in light of the pandemic and are looking forward to a virtual version of the event this year. We are also working closely with our dance professionals and potential celebrity dancers to ensure safe training and performance environments.

If you, or someone you know, would be interested in being a dancer or pro in 2020, please contact Brittny Wilson a bwilson@ywcaboulder.org

Thanks and stay tuned for more details soon!

Children’s Alley Phased Reopening

We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we continue to ensure the safety of our children, teachers and families of Children’s Alley to determine our reopening date. Based on the latest decision from Boulder County to extend the Stay at Home Order until May 8, we will be moving back our phased reopening to Monday, May 11. We have determined a phased approach to reopening will ensure our alignment with Colorado Public Health guidelines.

Phase 1 will begin on May 11, with the partial reopening of our Infant Development Center (IDC). We will be contacting families directly who currently have contracts with the YWCA. On May 18, we will reopen part of our Pre-K program. We will be contacting families directly who currently have contracts with the YWCA.

We will not be able to offer traditional drop-in services at this time but we are working with Colorado Public Health to determine what that process will look like as we get further into the opening.
