Persimmon Early Learning is Now Enrolling for Permanent Childcare Slots

We’re thrilled to announce Persimmon Early Learning of the YWCA! Formerly called Children’s Alley, Persimmon Early Learning of the YWCA is our expanded learning center for children three months to four years of age.

Persimmon Early Learning of the YWCA offers high-quality, affordable child care, and expanded indoor and outdoor learning areas. It provides a nurturing, creative space for children to learn and grow in redesigned and expanded indoor and outdoor learning areas. The program emphasizes parent engagement and education, health equity through scheduled activities and active play time, and good nutrition modeling and activities including diverse and healthy meal plan. All Persimmon Early Learning teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and trained in social/emotional skills to help with behavior management.

All programs include:

  • ECE-certified teachers,
  • Level four Colorado Shines school certification,
  • A Storybook Journey curriculum focused on play-based experiential learning,
  • Milestone assessment tools and bi-annual parent/teacher conferences,
  • Family and community events, and
  • All materials and activity fees.

Additionally, Persimmon Early Learning of the YWCA’s programs include a complete wellness program, including:

  • Three healthy meal/snacks daily prepared by onsite nutritionist
  • Programs including active play, farm to ECE programs, field trips and lessons focused on the holistic development of the child
  • Onsite Kids Connect consultant providing children and parents with resources supported by Mental Health Partners

Persimmon Early Learning of the YWCA is currently enrolling for permanent care slots for children three months to four years of age, and is available at the following rate structure:

  • $1,650 Monday – Friday
  • $1,155 Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • $743 Tuesday, Thursday

Specifically designed for infants ages eight weeks to sixteen months old, Persimmon Early Learning’s Infant Development Center features a range of benefits. Highly qualified Infant Specialists supervise children at all times; all teachers are trained in infant CPR/First Aid, Safe Sleep practices, and best practices (as recommended by the Colorado Office of Early Childhood) in infant nutrition, health, safety, and  physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. We offer drop-in care and have tuition based long-term contract spaces available . Contact our office for more information.

Additionally, the Infant Development Center provides:

  • Feeding, naps, and playtime customized for each infant’s individual schedule to ensure that they are comfortable and that they experience care consistent with what they receive at home.
  • A range of formula options (or you can opt to supply your own formula or breast milk).
  • A cozy eat-in “kitchen” and rocking chairs for feeding infants.
  • A quiet napping room with all staff certified in Safe Sleep best practices.
  • An indoor play area with a wide variety of age-appropriate learning materials.
  • A gated outdoor area that features a covered surface, and an awning to further protect infants from bright sun.
  • A certified breastfeeding friendly atmosphere; we support mothers who continue to breastfeed their children as they return to work. This includes a private, designated breastfeeding room for mothers to breastfeed their children, or moms are welcome to breastfeed in the classroom if desired.

Our toddler room is designed for children ages 12 months to 3 years and provides positive learning experiences that encourage the social, emotional, and intellectual development of our attendees. Playtime, music, art and outdoor play help active toddlers to enjoy their day at Persimmon Early Learning as they develop during these essential, early years of their education. All lead teachers are trained in CPR/First Aid, Safe Sleep practices, and best practices (as recommended by the Colorado Office of Early Childhood) in toddler nutrition, health, safety, and physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. Additionally, the Toddler Classroom provides:

  • Nutritious morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner, including at least one fruit and/or vegetable, protein, grains, and Whole or 1% Milk (as recommended by the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP)). Allergen sensitive foods and dairy alternatives are available as well.
  • A kid-friendly environment with learning materials aimed towards the toddler age-group’s specific developmental needs.
  • A peaceful and comfortable environment for afternoon nap beginning just after lunch. Nap mats with clean, sanitized sheets and blankets are available for each individual child.
  • A large, gated, and shady outdoor play area that includes many small ridable cars, a sandbox, and many guided movement activities with the teachers.

Persimmon Early Learning has an all-day Preschool Classroom which uses the Storybook Journey curriculum. This curriculum focuses on children’s literature, poems, songs, rhymes, and the creativity of the children and staff. Storybook Journey provides a positive opportunity to address emotional challenges that typically begin to emerge in children ages 3-5 years old. All lead teachers are trained in CPR/First Aid, and best practices (as recommended by the Colorado Office of Early Childhood) in early childhood nutrition, health, safety, and physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. Additionally, the Preschool Classroom provides:

  • A number of spots are specifically reserved for children enrolled in the Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) through the Boulder Valley School District. This allows for a child to receive full-day preschool funded by the state of Colorado (provided families meet certain eligibility requirements).   • A small class size with no more than 12 children present daily. Any spots available in addition to CPP spots are drop-in and can be reserved daily by any Children’s Alley family.
  • Nutritious morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner, including at least one fruit and/or vegetable, protein, grains, and Whole or 1% Milk (as recommended by the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP)). Allergen sensitive foods and dairy alternatives are available as well.
  • A large, gated, and shady outdoor play area designed specifically for children ages 3-12. Activities guided by teachers are provided daily, as well as plenty of time for free play.
