Volunteers Grow with RER Training

The number of volunteers in our Reading to End Racism program grew today after Shiquita Yarbrough, Director of Community Engagement and Equity trained passionate and excited volunteers. We heard personal stories from a retired lawyer and several University of Colorado - Boulder students who are all driven to volunteer with us by their love for children and wanting to be a part of guiding them on a path of success. Everyone has an experience with racism - whether it was directed at you, a family member, a friend, or another human being you don’t even know – and there is a story to share that connects those to our program with the students we read to in the classrooms. If are interested in being trained to read with us, please contact Shiquita as she and the team are planning more trainings, and expanding to include evening times.
